Sri Lanka’s multi-art festival focuses on digital culture for 2016 – and are searching for curators!

2016 will be the fourth year of Sri Lankan city Colombo’s multidisciplinary arts festival. We need a European curator to bring local and international artists together, in a cutting-edge programme exploring the digital arts. THIS CALL IS NOW CLOSED.

Digital technology is increasingly mediating our lives, changing the way we experience and produce art, generating radical new ethical and political questions.

Colombscope 2016 aims to take audiences on a jouney through the 'digitisation of everyday life', and we need a experienced curator to co-create the route.

The British Council, Alliance Francais and the Geothe Institut are inviting the chosen curator to Colombo for an initial 5 day reconnaissance visit. Working with a locally appointed curator you will assess capabilities in Colombo for a digital arts festival, and submit a concept note to the Colomboscope Organising committee, recommending a digital theme and proposing a draft budget and timeline.

Expressions of interest need to be made by 31st Dec 2015. For full details on how to apply please download the role description here. CALL CLOSED.
