British Council has invited four Hub spaces from Kiev to attend the European Creative Hubs Forum in Lisbon 2015; Art Zavod Platforma is a multi-platform hub with ambitions to become Kyiv’s official creative industries district.

Literally translating to ‘Art Factory Platfom’, Art Zavod Platforma promotes activities that cover a wide range of creative industries disciplines from visual art to software development. They have combined forces with different creative people and organisations, providing them the best framework to develop and collaborate.

Their approach to working is threefold; to educate, to produce work and to exhibit new ideas. They are aiming to create a truly multidisciplinary environment that will enable meaningful collaborations to happen and for people to exchange knowledge and experiences.

ArtZavod Platforma are at an exciting period in their development as an organisation; they have recently renovated a 6,000 sq metre exhibition space and also offer learning spaces, co working spaces and specialist workshops. They are also in the process of refurbishing a large outdoor space which will be used to host events.

Rafael Yucha from ArtZavod Platforma spoke to us about their plans for the future:

“These days we are in progress of building the "family of projects", in other words a Hub that will involve all of our partners in Kiev and will create a platform to coordinate, meet and work together. The second stage of this project will be the CLW space(Creating, Learning, Working), which is already in architectural planing stage and will spread over 3,400 sq metres. “

He also told us about a few other projects which he personally thinks make Kiev a cool place to live and work:

“Two Different Projects in Kiev that I really like besides mine :)  :

1. Gogol Fest and all of thier related projects.

2. KAMA- really nice educational project, I believe it has a lot of potential. “

The European Creative Hubs Exchange will run between 13th-15th January in Lisbon, it is the first dedicated forum of its kind and will host over 200 hubs managers from the EU and further afield.
