YCE 2013 Screen & Multimedia winners announced!

Nine of the world’s most innovative young creative entrepreneurs working in multimedia are coming to London in less than two weeks to collaborate with peers from the UK as part of the British Council’s Young Creative Entrepreneur (YCE) programme.

Participants include the driving force behind Africa’s premier online lifestyle, entertainment and fashion portal, an entrepreneur opening up multiplatform content to Brazil through mobile technology and the creator of a Vietnamese online film festival and development platform for filmmakers.

Having impressed our judges in their own national YCE finals, theselected winnerswill arrive in London on 13th October ready to begin a jam packed week of networking, pitching, touring and more.

Some highlights of their trip will include a visit to the 7th edition of the Power to the Pixel Cross-Media Forum , and two ‘Trendsafaris’ – where they will get the chance to visit some of the most exciting and innovative digital businesses in Shoreditch’s ‘Silicon Roundabout’ and across the capital, including: Inition, Mother, Aframe and Channel Flip Media.

YCE’s will also hear from expert speakers including ‘The Pitch Doctor’ Paul Boross, an internationally recognised authority on communications, presentation, performance and ‘the art and science of persuading people to give your business’, as well as UK experts such as Skills Matter CEO Wendy Devolder, BBC Chief Creative Officer Pat Younge and founder of global youth broadcasting brand SBTV Jamal Edwards.

Brazil: Marcos Ferreira
Marcos is the CEO of mobCONTENT and Mobbr, a pioneer in Value Added Service (VAS) content distribution to all Brazilian mobile phone operators.mobCONTENT successfully crowdfunded a mobile app calledItinere, a tool for creating a collaborative map for cyclists.

China: Zhongzhong Xi
Zhongzhong is Director and Producer at Shan Shui Pictures, a production company that creates story-based films and visual projects with a focus on literary adaptions.

Colombia: Andrés Morán
Andrés employs digital content to strengthen existing brands and launch new brands in association with Colombian content-makers. He is the Founder of B2B digital agency Nutshell Studio, an enterprise that allowed him to launch several other digital projects.

Lebanon: Elie Nasr
Elie is the Co-Founder of FOO_, a leading provider of mobile applications / games development in the rapidly growing Lebanese mobile marketplace. FOO_ caters forlocal, regional and international clients and brands, producing apps ranging from interactive marketing to augmented reality and more.

Nigeria: Uche Pedro
Uche Pedro is the driving force behind the multi award-winning BellaNaija, Africa’s premier online lifestyle, entertainment and fashion portal that conceptualizes, develops and manages innovative and exciting online media content aimed at Pan-African and Nigerian audiences.

Russia: Denis Drachev
Denis is a Product-Lead & Designer at Dream Industries’ Theory&Practice, creating technology that empowers people to spread knowledge and culture through educational events that challenge current thinking. He is also responsible for designing the Exchang.es and placeplaceplace.com platforms.

Spain: AritzCirbian
Aritz is a producer at Primitive Films, a cooperative group where he also is a crowdfunding expert, partnering with Spain's leading crowdfunding company, Verkami. He is currently producing feature films and documentaries as well as launching a mobile games branch called Apptivism™.

UAE: Reem Hameed
Reem is the co-founder and Managing Director of Collective.ae, a content creation company that uses technology and crowdsourcing to bring digital content to life. The company breaks open the traditional film production model and focuses on community, collaboration and tech-savvy workflows.

Vietnam: NhậtLinh Phan Gia
Nhật Linh is Co-founder of the online short film festival Yxine Film Fest, a social enterprise that has been central in developing a model that is helping the Vietnamese film industry build strong foundations for the future. He also works as a filmmaker, film critic and film festival organizer.
