Rachel Ogden rebranded and relaunched Inpress in 2009. The company now works with 40 independent publishers from across the UK, to sell and distribute their titles, managing the warehousing of her publishers’ stock in London and employ a team of eight freelance sales agents who sell her titles into bookshops in the UK, Europe and Australia. Inpress is also an online retailer and sell directly to customers through their website.
Rachel's first year with the company has been one of change and growth: having relocated Inpress from Ealing to Newcastle upon Tyne, increased the number of publishers to work with, begun to develop new digital services for her publishers such as e-books and e-marketing, and managed a series of showcase events featuring publishers at The Wordsworth Trust in Cumbria.
Rachel is also an award-winning literary events manager, with ten years’ experience in fundraising, marketing, PR and grant management. After beginning her career as an arts journalist, she managed the two-week Durham Literature Festival in 2007. In her former role as Literature Officer at Arts Council England, Rachel worked closely with publishers, writers and literature development agencies.
