Manu founded DESIGNO Patagonia in 2002. It focuses on local identity, the values of natural materials, and social and environmental sustainability
Manu was born in Bariloche (Patagonia, Argentina). He graduated as an industrial designer and also did studies in environmental management. Some years ago he founded his design studio, which produces and commercializes its own products. He focuses on local identity, the values of natural materials, and social and environmental sustainability (is repeted, let's take this away). The studio also has collaborated with local communities through design.
Manuel was one of the finalists of the YCE Design Award 2007.
In the last 3 years Manu has been working in "Plaza Movil street park", a project that looks forward to provide safe, recreational facilities in the overcrowded cities. It is about closing selected streets to motorized traffic at weekends and during public holidays to roll out the portable park, which will provide facilities for relaxation, games, sport and social activities. His project won the second price of the Philips Livable Cities Award in 2011.
